montage 4This weeks Model Monday focuses on model Marcus and his inspiring fund-raising journey with charity ‘Raleigh International’….

“In 2004, I had the most amazing adventure of my life working with youth and sustainable development charity Raleigh International in Malaysian Borneo, but it almost didn’t happen” says Marcus. “11 years ago the idea of taking ’time off’ to travel, learn and grow was unusual for somebody like me, from a working class background”.

montage 2Since this life-changing trip in 2004, Marcus has been working with International charity ‘Rayleigh’ to launch the fund-raising project entitled ‘Pius Bayoh Project’.

(This project is) named after an amazing man who I met whilst working in the tiny village of Kampung Pahu, Sabah in Malaysian Borneo. Pius Bayoh was a very kind and humble man and a great inspiration to me and many other volunteers on my expedition”.

montage 1The Pius Bayoh project helps to boost fund-raising money for young people who have made a genuine effort to reach their target, but find themselves needing help to reach their final goal.

They must be able to justify their need for additional help, but ultimately supporting these people through their tough challenge to raise hundreds of pounds means that they can make a valuable and sustainable change in marginalised communities overseas.

montage 3Marcus is fund-raising himself for the Pius Bayoh project: “In order to reach my target of £800, on Saturday 22 August 2015, I’ll be jumping out of a plane at approximately 10,000 feet!”

You can support Marcus’ in his challenge to raise £800 by donating on his Just Giving page here.
